TRAVEL WITH CONFIDENCE
Terms & Conditions
The booking terms that help us plan and deliver your private East African safari with clarity, care and confidence.
OUR COMMITMENT
Travel Designed With Clarity
These Terms & Conditions apply to safari planning, reservations and travel services arranged by Tano Bora Collection. Please read them carefully before confirming a booking. A written booking confirmation or payment to us indicates acceptance by the lead traveller on behalf of every person included in the reservation.

01
Your Booking & Contract
A booking becomes confirmed only when we issue written confirmation and receive the stated deposit or full payment. Quotations are proposals and remain subject to availability until confirmation. The lead traveller must be at least 18 years old, have authority to accept these terms for the group, and ensure all traveller details are complete and accurate.
Your confirmation, itinerary, invoice and these terms together form the agreement for the services arranged by Tano Bora Collection.
02
Prices, Deposits & Payment
Prices are normally quoted in the currency shown on your proposal and are based on the services, exchange rates, taxes, park fees and availability known at the time. Your proposal will state the deposit, payment schedule and accepted payment method.
- Deposits may be non-refundable where suppliers require advance commitments.
- The balance must be received by the due date on the invoice. Late payment may result in cancellation and applicable charges.
- Bank, card, transfer and currency-conversion fees are the traveller’s responsibility unless stated otherwise.
- We may pass on unavoidable changes in government taxes, conservation fees or other mandatory charges permitted by applicable law.
03
Changes Requested by You
Tell us promptly if you wish to change names, dates, accommodation, routing or services. We will try to assist, but changes depend on supplier availability and may involve additional costs or administration fees. Some permits, tickets and special-rate arrangements cannot be amended or transferred.
04
Cancellation by You
Cancellations must be received in writing from the lead traveller. Charges depend on how close cancellation occurs to departure and on non-refundable commitments already made to lodges, airlines, permit authorities and other suppliers. The specific cancellation schedule in your proposal or confirmation takes priority where provided.
No refund is normally available for unused services after travel begins, late arrival, early departure or a decision not to participate. Comprehensive travel insurance is strongly recommended from the date of booking.
05
Changes or Cancellation by Us
East African travel can be affected by weather, wildlife movements, road conditions, park regulations, flight schedules and supplier operations. We may make reasonable itinerary changes where necessary for safety, quality or circumstances beyond our control. Where a significant confirmed service becomes unavailable, we will aim to offer a suitable alternative of comparable value.
If we must cancel for reasons within our control, we will offer an appropriate alternative or refund for services not supplied, subject to amounts recoverable from suppliers and applicable law.
06
Force Majeure & Unavoidable Events
We are not responsible for failure or delay caused by events beyond reasonable control, including severe weather, natural disasters, epidemic or pandemic, government action, border closure, civil unrest, terrorism, labour disruption, transport interruption, fire or similar events. We will provide reasonable assistance, but additional accommodation, transport or alternative arrangements may be charged to the traveller where not recoverable from suppliers or insurance.
07
Passports, Visas & Health
Travellers are responsible for valid passports, visas, permits, vaccinations, health certificates and entry or transit requirements for every destination. Requirements can change, so confirm them with official authorities before travel.
You must tell us about medical, mobility, dietary or other needs that may affect the journey. Participation in any activity remains subject to the traveller’s fitness and the safety judgement of guides or suppliers. We may be unable to accommodate an undisclosed requirement after confirmation.
08
Travel Insurance & Safari Risks
Suitable comprehensive travel insurance is strongly recommended and may be required for certain journeys. Cover should include cancellation, medical treatment, emergency evacuation, repatriation, baggage, delays and the activities in your itinerary.
Safari travel involves remote areas, wildlife, uneven terrain, light aircraft, boats and changing environmental conditions. By travelling, guests acknowledge these inherent risks and agree to follow safety briefings and instructions from guides, camp staff and authorities.
09
Suppliers, Conduct & Responsibility
Many services are supplied by independent airlines, lodges, camps, guides, transport operators and authorities. Their own terms may also apply. We select partners with care and coordinate the itinerary, but we are not responsible for an independent supplier’s acts or omissions except where applicable law provides otherwise.
Travellers must behave respectfully toward communities, wildlife, staff and other guests. We may end arrangements without refund where conduct is unsafe, unlawful, abusive or materially disruptive.
10
Flights, Baggage & Wildlife
Flight times and routes can change. Travellers must reconfirm relevant schedules and comply with baggage limits, particularly on light aircraft where soft-sided luggage and strict weight limits commonly apply. Costs caused by excess baggage, missed connections or independently booked transport remain the traveller’s responsibility.
Wildlife sightings and natural events can never be guaranteed. Season descriptions are guidance based on historical patterns, not promises of specific animals, weather or migration locations.
11
Complaints & Assistance
If a problem arises during travel, notify your guide, supplier and Tano Bora Collection as soon as possible so there is an opportunity to resolve it. If it remains unresolved, send a written summary with supporting information promptly after the journey. Delayed notice may limit our ability to investigate or provide an effective remedy.
12
Privacy, Law & Contact
We use personal information in accordance with our Privacy Policy. These terms are interpreted under applicable law and do not remove any mandatory consumer rights that cannot lawfully be excluded. If a dispute arises, both parties should first try to resolve it in good faith through direct discussion.
Questions about these terms can be sent to hello@tanoboracollection.com.
